For anyone who hasn’t
heard –and where have you been for the last week? On Mars?– the problems G4S
Group have been having are major, and the repercussions are inevitable.
Then TEMPERANCE (sometimes called the ‘Angel’ or ‘Alchemy’) for ‘present’: a card of two items combined, like the double-helix of DNA.
And finally, THE MAGICIAN
for ‘future’: the card of secrets and slight of hand.
Staring at this array; movement, combined with secrets. I have an overwhelming urge to pull another card: THE TOWER.

I’ve placed THE TOWER above the other three and it forms a pyramid configuration. When the Pyramid appears in a ‘hand’ (either upright or reversed) I know I have to be careful. It’s a Pharaoh’s tomb – the king –maker or –destroyer (depending on the peak/foot).
In this case, the peak is
THE TOWER; the card of destruction. So a king (pharaoh) will fall.
If this ‘hand’ relates to G4S, then all the movement (CHARIOT) of the ‘past’ –the major contract with the British Government to provide security for both past and present events– is dragging the company along at a speedy pace. I’m in mind of a train out of control; eventually, it will derail and there will be heavy loses (Tower). G4S share price (Temperance) has already felt some of these losses – but there will be others (Magician)!
TEMPERANCE is akin to the fool’s gold of Alchemy; many seek what is not to be found! G4S were trying to do too many things, and did them all badly. The intermingling of the Olympic rings shows-up here, with each ring connecting to the next – a symbol of power (5) in perfect harmony (linked). However, G4S do not have ‘power in perfect harmony’, they symbolise chaos (Tower) and are hiding (Magician) behind Government skirts. The movement (Chariot) into the privatisation of policing has been damaged by G4S’ disorganisation (Tower), and will hurt the Government’s push to break-up the Policing of Britain and sell-it-off to the Private Sector.
Here we have the sly MAGICIAN raising his head. He seems like the embodiment of magical skill and miraculous feats; but really he’s a cheap street congener. Doing ‘tricks’ to amuse the crowd, while his accomplice quickly (Chariot) picks their pockets, without them realising. Here too, we have the Tory lead Coalition (Temperance), doling out contracts to incompetents (Tower), like cards in a game of Find the Lady. When all along, the ‘lady’ in question is ‘hidden’ (Magician) up his sleeve, ready to emerge with the carful flick of his wrist.
We all know that Governments have their own agendas, and we mere mortals are in the dark until it plays out.
The Coalition are using companies, like G4S, to do their dirty work for them, to stealthily bring about a change (Chariot) –if the private sector can ‘police’ a major world-event (like the London Olympics), then they can take on the contracts to ‘police’ Britain. But this little gun-powder plot has blown up in their collective (Temperance) faces and someone will have to pay (Tower) –but it will not be the British Government (Magician), it will be the contractor!
G4S, the writing is on the wall (Pyramid) and it is a obituary – a song for the dying. From the chaos (Chariot/ Temperance/ Magician) of the Olympic security shambles, the aftermath (Tower) will be the fall of a king (or Pharaoh).
Whether it will be Nick Buckles, the chief exec of the G4S Group, or not, I cannot say for sure. But his days of power are numbered…
